hotremote - Bluetooth remote from cell phone to computer

hotRemote is a software which allows a cell phone to act as a remote on your computer ... well, actually, to play music from a CD. It is based on Bluetooth, so it's free (it works the same way as a walkie-talkie would so that no phone call is billed). It only works on WindowsXP (Service Pack 2), computers provided with a Bluetooth device (this can be an USB dongle) and cell phones that are Bluetooth compatible.

Just another AVRCP implementation. I don't think it is compatible with *all* bluetooth enabled phones, as it needs a .jar file to be installed on a cellphone.

Bluetooth, a technology aiding the flirts

Lol. This Bluetooth is becoming a flirters technology. Saudi segregated men and women in restaurants. But Saudi can do nothing to prevent people from flirting via a Bluetooth device.

...They elude the mores imposed by the kingdom's puritanical Wahhabi version of Islam _ formulated in the 18th century _ by using a 21st century device in their mobile phones: the wireless Bluetooth technology that permits users to connect without going through the phone company...

....For the most part, the messages are innocent. But for this conservative society, it is pretty bold stuff.

Many images feature babies _ some blowing kisses _ perhaps because women consider them cute. Animated cartoons doing bellydances, dreamy Arabic songs and sappy, sentimental messages are also popular.

"Last night I sent an angel to watch over you, but he came back soon," said one message. "I asked him why, and he answered, 'Am not allowed to watch over other angels.'"....
